Thank you to Brevard Schools Foundation, Merritt Island Breakfast Rotary Club, and the Consortium of Florida Education Foundations Matching Funds Grant made possible by the Florida Department of Education through an appropriation from the Florida Legislature. The $500 check will be used to purchase materials for sixth graders to compete in the Sphero Global Challenge and also purchase a “Hands on Equations” fraction kit. The METS Academy is so grateful to receive these materials and extend our learning in new ways.
Author, Jonathan Miller presented to our 1st-3rd grade students! The kids loved hearing about how he creates his illustrations and the exciting adventures of Sammy the Wonder Dachshund. It was a great way to celebrate reading during Florida’s Celebrate Literacy Week!

Your children will be visiting the PBIS, Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports, Sharky-Mart every month starting in September so they can trade in their hard-earned Blaze Bucks for items in the shop. We are asking for your support by purchasing an item or two for the Sharky-Mart. Any help you can provide will allow us to use funds to work towards other special rewards for the students. If an item has less than 50 in the bulk, remember we have over 400 students and multiples are fine. You can have items shipped to Tropical Elementary c/o PBIS & Ms. Skinner OR to your home and bring them to the front office.
